The Association of clubs of owners of classic vehicles

The AKHV (Association of Clubs of Historic Vehicles in the UAMK motoring club) is a non-profit civic organisation. The AKHV pursues the following objectives:

  • To associate the owners of historic vehicles
  • To cooperate with state institutions in the area of pertinent legislation to enhance and ensure road safety for the historic vehicles
  • To support and coordinate the realization of gatherings, meetings and contests of historic vehicles, which shall be organized by the member clubs
  • To cooperate with similar associations in the Czech Republic and in the world.

The UAMK CR (Ustredni Auto-Moto Klub Ceske Republiky = General Automobile and Motorcycle Club of the Czech Republic) continues with the motoring traditions that were commenced as early as 1904. The UAMK CR is an active member of the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) and the AIT (Alliance Internationale de Tourisme). In the scope of the Czech Republic, the UAMK CR is a member of the Czech Sports Association. Today, the UAMK CR consists of more than 600 individual clubs that altogether associate more than 200 000 members. The AKHV is a successor organisation of the Historic Vehicles Commission, which conducted its activities in the former UAMK as from 1966 already. Members of the Commission manifested all the time an unchanging interest to become a member of the FIVA (Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens). It was necessary, therefore, to obtain the status of a legal body and to have an own administration and bookkeeping. With respect for this endeavour, on 26 June 1996 the AKHV was founded in the town of Pacov. Through the adoption of its statutes, the AKHV espoused the ideas of the FIVA.

The AKHV linked up to the activities of the Historic Vehicles Commission within the UAMK CR. In view of this, the AKHV members can enjoy all benefits that exist for ordinary members of the UAMK CR, such as road assistance services, club magazine, royalty fees payment at various club events, etc.

Towards 1 November 2007, the AKHV already embraced as much as 50 historic vehicle clubs with more than 1 500 members. Every year, the AKHV organizes regular training courses for the testing inspectors of the particular clubs to enhance quality of the historic vehicles testing processes.

The AKHV member clubs hold more than 60 events every year (touring assemblies and contests), which are carefully prepared under high quality standards. The AKHV association is open to all clubs who are interested in the historic vehicle movement, and offers help and advice to those clubs who are about to join the movement.
